Autumn foliage across South Korea's mountains and valleys in October

Japanese low-cost carrier Peach Aviation launched daily service between Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) and Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) on 20 September 2026. The service operates once daily in each direction, adding a new low-cost option on one of Asia’s busiest short-haul corridors.

The Seoul–Tokyo route has been one of the most heavily trafficked air routes in the world since the gradual restoration of Japan–Korea travel from 2023. Multiple airlines currently serve the corridor, including Korean Air, Asiana, Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Jeju Air, and Air Seoul. The Peach entry increases competition on the route and is expected to keep fares competitive through the autumn season.

Flight Details

Peach Aviation’s Incheon–Narita service operates an Airbus A320neo on the route, with a scheduled block time of approximately two hours and ten minutes.

Departure times as of launch:

  • ICN → NRT: departs 09:45, arrives 12:55 JST
  • NRT → ICN: departs 14:10, arrives 16:25 KST

Times are subject to schedule adjustments. Travellers should confirm current schedules at the time of booking.

Fare Structure and Baggage

Peach operates on an unbundled fare model. The base fare covers a seat and one personal item. Checked baggage, seat selection, and in-flight meals are purchased separately. Introductory fares for October and November 2026 were advertised at ¥9,800 (approximately US$65) one-way including taxes at launch, though availability at introductory prices has already reduced.

Baggage fees add meaningful cost for travellers with larger bags — those travelling with checked luggage should compare total price including fees against full-service carriers, which sometimes price competitively on this route when seat sales are running.

Seoul–Tokyo Travel Context

The Seoul–Tokyo corridor is one of the most popular international routes for both Korean and Japanese travellers. The journey is approximately 1,200 km and takes around two hours by air, or significantly longer by a combination of ferry and rail if travelling overland via Busan.

Note that Japan requires travellers to submit an arrival registration through the Visit Japan Web system, which should be completed before departure. Processing the registration online is recommended at least 24 hours in advance.

Korea does not currently require advance electronic authorisation for Japanese nationals. Korean ETA exemption for other nationalities has been extended through 2026 for most G20 passport holders — check current requirements for your specific nationality.

Competition and Market Pricing

The arrival of Peach adds to pressure on fares on this route. Other LCCs operating Seoul–Tokyo include Jeju Air (both ICN–NRT and ICN–HND), T’way Air, and Jin Air. Full-service airlines including Korean Air, Asiana, JAL, and ANA remain strongly competitive with sale fares on the same route.
