Direct Flights From Taiwan to Busan Launch on 1 June 2026
Direct flights between Taiwan and Busan launch on 1 June 2026, with new services operating from both Taipei and Taichung to Gimhae International Airport. The routes add to Busan’s expanding international flight network and signal growing demand for the city as a standalone destination rather than a detour from Seoul.
Busan has seen a significant rise in international visitor arrivals in 2026, with regional airport data showing close to 50% year-on-year growth in traffic through airports outside the capital. The city’s combination of beaches, seafood markets, mountain temples, and a distinct coastal culture has driven increasing interest from visitors who want more than Seoul alone can offer.
Busan’s growing appeal
Haeundae Beach remains Busan’s most visited single attraction, but the city’s strongest draw is arguably the range of experiences packed into a compact geography: the hillside Gamcheon Culture Village, the traditional market at Gukje, Haedong Yonggungsa temple perched on the cliffs above the sea, and the independent food and coffee culture of the Seomyeon and Gwangalli districts.
Travel from Seoul to Busan is straightforward on the KTX high-speed rail (approximately 2.5 hours), making it an easy addition to any itinerary. For visitors planning a multi-city trip, our one-week South Korea itinerary builds in time for both Seoul and Busan with practical routing included.
Entry requirements reminder
Travelers to South Korea should note that paper arrival cards were replaced by a mandatory digital e-Arrival Card from January 2026. All foreign visitors must submit the e-Arrival Card online within three days before arrival, including the day of arrival. K-ETA remains waived for nationals from 67 countries through 31 December 2026 — but after that date, K-ETA applications will be required again.
For a full breakdown of entry requirements, check our flights to South Korea guide, which covers visa rules, the e-Arrival Card, and how to get between Incheon and Gimhae airports.
June is one of the better months to visit Busan: temperatures sit around 20–25°C, the summer beach crowd hasn’t yet peaked, and the Busan International Film Festival is on the horizon in October for those planning ahead.
