Two overlapping events make Busan worth a visit in September 2026. The Busan Night Festa at Dadaepo Beach — a series of outdoor evening concerts, light installations, and street food markets — runs through the end of the month, while the Busan International Music Festival (BIMF) continues until 22 September with performances across the city’s concert halls and outdoor stages.
Busan Night Festa at Dadaepo Beach
Dadaepo Beach, roughly 40 minutes southwest of central Busan by subway (Dadaepo Beach station on Line 1), hosts the Night Festa on weekends through late September. The event runs from 18:00 to 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, with occasional weekday extensions on public holidays.
The programme includes:
- Live music sets from Korean indie and pop acts on the main beach stage
- A light installation along the 800-metre beach promenade
- Food stalls serving local seafood, tteokbokki, and seasonal drinks
- The Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dreams — one of the largest musical fountains in Asia — operating on its nightly schedule with added programming during festival weekends
Entry to the beach and main festival area is free. Some ticketed seated sections near the main stage have a fee of ₩10,000–20,000 depending on the performance.
Busan International Music Festival
BIMF runs from 1 to 22 September and brings classical and contemporary orchestral performances to venues including the Busan Cultural Centre, the Arpina Convention Centre in Haeundae, and the outdoor Yongdusan Park amphitheatre.
The closing weekend (20–22 September) features the festival’s flagship outdoor concert at Haeundae Beach, which drew crowds of over 30,000 last year. Tickets for the major Haeundae concerts are available through the Interpark platform.
Getting to Busan
KTX trains from Seoul’s Suseo or Seoul Station reach Busan Bujeon Station in around 2 hours 20 minutes. Budget carriers including Air Busan, Jin Air, and Jeju Air operate frequent short-haul routes from Seoul Gimpo and Incheon to Gimhae International Airport.
From 20 September, Peach Aviation adds a new daily service between Tokyo Narita and Seoul Incheon — useful for Japan-based travellers considering a Seoul–Busan combination trip.
Where to Stay
Haeundae Beach and BIFF Square (Nampo-dong) are the two most popular bases for first-time visitors. Haeundae puts you within easy reach of the Music Festival’s Haeundae concerts. For the Night Festa at Dadaepo, Nampo-dong or central Busan is a more practical base.
